The Little Frogs

Three frogs looked around them and looked at each other and discovered they were in a milk churn that was full of milk. Now, they had no idea how they had got there but they were indeed in a milk churn.  They looked up and could see the sky.

Now, these frogs were in a bit of a predicament and they had no idea what to do or how to get out. One frog started blaming the others and started shouting at them, one frog just cried and cried and the other frog just kept saying ‘I don’t know what to do, I don’t know what to do.’

After a while the frogs stopped what they were doing and look at each other.  Had all the shouting, crying and complaining changed anything?  Nope, they were still stuck in the milk churn that was full of milk with no obvious way out.

One of the frogs began to swim around in the milk and told the others it wasn’t too bad and to join in. So in the milk churn full of milk the three frogs began to swim and as they swam they chatted and chatted and found themselves beginning to laugh and giggle. They hadn’t asked to end up in a milk churn full of milk but swimming in the milk was what made it seem better.  They even sang songs and put together their very own synchronised swim.

Whenever a frog became tired the other frogs would hold them up to allow them to rest as swimming in milk in a milk churn can be very tiring. Once rested the frog would begin swimming around again and laughed and giggled and sang with the others. There was no way any of them were going to sink.
After a while, the frogs began to notice that it wasn’t so easy to swim anymore and it was harder and harder to move their legs.

‘Oh no! What now?’ they said together, but when they looked down they noticed something amazing! It was the milk, there was something different about the milk.

Rather than swimming in milk they were now sitting, yes sitting on top of cream!  All the swimming had churned the milk and turned it into cream and now they were sitting on top of it! They looked at each other and were very proud of what they had achieved with their little frog legs.

Then, they looked again!  They could see more of the sky than before.  The cream had risen to the top and now they were sitting looking up and out of the milk churn.

So, when you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

Belief in yourself

The Little Bird

The little bird sat in its beautiful cage and knew its owner would provide all the warmth, food and water it needed each and every single day.

One day, as the little bird sat on the perch in the beautiful cage with its food and water the owner had just given it, they noticed something outside.  And as the bird looked from the inside of their cage looked out through the window it saw other birds.  Some birds sitting on the rooftops, the fences, the trees, the hedges, the telephone wires basically anywhere the birds wanted to. Some birds swooped and dived in the sky twittering and tweeting.  Some birds just sang and sang their joyous little tunes.
The little bird had never noticed the other birds before as they had been happy sitting in their beautiful cage and happy to be given warmth, food and water it needed each and every single day.
Now the little bird wondered.  Wondered what was outside of this cage for them, what songs they could sing, how high they could fly and what it would feel like to do what the other birds did so easily. So now, each day the little bird watched and wondered.

One day, the owner fed the bird and refreshed the water but as they left, the little bird noticed they had left the door of the cage wide open and as the bird looked toward the door it noticed the window was wide open too and the little bird could see the other birds the birds sitting on the rooftops, the fences, the trees, the hedges, the telephone wires basically anywhere the birds wanted to. They could see the birds that were swooping and diving in the sky twittering and tweeting.  They could see and hear the birds that were singing their joyous little tunes.

The little bird began to feel excited! With a hop and a flutter they knew that they could be out there too doing what all the other birds were doing. What was to stop them?  The cage door was wide open and that the window that led to the other birds, well, it was wide open too.  What was to stop the little bird deciding to go? To live with the other birds and doing everything that they were doing. To make the choice.

The little bird sat and thought………

The little bird sat and watched……..

The little bird sat and doubted………..

The little bird sat and thought some more……….

The little bird felt afraid……….

The little bird………………

The little bird……………..

The little bird……………..
